The price of keeping the home warm regularly causes stress to the person if they are on a limited earnings. Keeping warm in winter to stop hypothermia setting in is the largest problem from sitting in a cold environment, and happens when more heat is heated matress pads lost from the body than it can generate. It is typically due to extended exposure to the cold, and where the body temperature drops to below 35 degrees ( ordinary body temperature is 37 degrees ).

Even body heat from someone else would help if nothing else was available. Any of these actions will help to duck more heat loss from the body. Get your circulation going by getting up and moving around now and again, this causes you to feel hotter. If it is too cold to go out, do some cleaning round the house like vacuuming the carpet, dusting the furniture, anything to keep you moving to keep hot. If getting up and moving around causes you difficulty then some armchair exercises will help. Try moving your arms, legs, shoulders and feet around each half an hour just for a minute or
2, this could help to keep the circulation in the body moving. Keeping your feet off the floor, extend your legs and push your feet forward as if pointing at something in the distance with your toes, hold for some seconds then pull your feet back, pointing the toes to towards the ceiling. Put both feet back on the floor, hip width apart, and come up onto the balls of your feet, lifting your heels off the floor. Hold for some seconds then relax and repeat a couple of times. With your feet flat on the floor, lift one foot at a time and slowly revolve your ankles around in little circles ( both directions ) to loosen off excess strain. Sit up straight and tense the lower leg muscles, holding for some seconds, feeling the diverse muscles contract before relaxing. Repeat 3 times. Sit with your feet hip width apart and come up onto the balls of your feet, lifting your heels off the floor. Push your legs down as if making an attempt to push your heels back onto the floor, while resisting and tensing the legs so the heels don’t actually return to the floor. Relax and repeat many times.
Next, sit with your feet hip width apart, but with your knees together.
Start squeezing your knees together and tense your higher leg muscles. Do this numerous times, steadily building with every one up to your maximum effort. Stay in the same position, but this time put your hands on the exterior of your knees. Push outwards, attempting to open your knees apart, but resist with your hands so they don’t open. Begin gently, building to your maximum effort. Stop shaking and delicately bend and revolve your wrists thru their complete range of movement. Add light pressure by gradually pushing the hand forward and back from the wrist with the opposite hand.
Warm garments for both inside and out is urgent. Many layers of thin clothing are better than one thick layer, as this can keep you warm by trapping air between them. Wool, polyester or fleecy manmade fibres or fabrics are sometimes hotter. Keep your limbs warm by wearing thick woolen tights or socks and a warm pair of slippers for your feet.
Thermal underware has the benefit to soak up, store, and release body heat to help in keeping the body temperature ideal. A blanket over the knees and shoulders will supply a large amount of warmth. As to will a woollen hat on your head, where plenty of heat can be lost.

How are you keeping warm? Well, living in Auckland it’s not as cold as most places, but this winter has been plenty cold enough for me. My two teenagers, and myself live in an older house that has high ceilings i.e. no roof insulation.
