Perfect Fit Heated Ribbed Blanket Or A Hot Water Bottle?

Winter nights can be very, very cold – so cold, in some places, that no matter how many blankets and quilts you put over yourself, you never seem to get any warmer. The solution to the problem are heated mattress pads, of course, is to snuggle yourself under an electrically heated blanket: just plug it in, and keep warm. Seems easy enough, right? But is it ok to sleep with electric blanket?
Well, not really. Unfortunately, electric blankets have got something of a negative reputation. As recently as a decade ago, they had a tendency to injure their users, by causing electric shocks, burns or even fires. Older electric fires are still causing thousands of fires a year today, and people who can’t feel heat can still be burned even by safer modern electric blankets.

rechargeable battery heated stadium blanketsUsed carefully, however, electric blankets can be safe, as long as you make sure to buy a new one (never buy one second hand) and check that you are sensitive enough to heat to feel if it gets too hot. You may also consider simply using the electric blanket to warm the bed up before you get into it, but not actually sleeping underneath the electric blanket, instead unplugging and removing it before you go to bed. Make extra sure that the blanket never gets wet, and that you don’t use it together with any other blankets. Finally, you should replace the electric blanket every few years, or sooner if it starts to look like it is in bad condition.

The best and most common alternative to the electric blanket is probably the hot water bottle, as hot water bottles cool down rather than getting warmer over time, and can be fitted with special soft covers to avoid burning you. They are also much cheaper.

Electric Mattress pad or Heated Blanket?
Now my question is do I want to replace it with a electric mattress pad or a heated blanket? I like laying on the electric mattress pad, but now that I’m going thru menopause it makes me too hot sometimes.

I don’t know about you but a heated blanket would be great these days. If I had a heated blanket, I could turn the heat down and it would save on our heating bill.

Is It Ok To Sleep With Electric Blanket

Many people already know the benefits of using and electric blanket and heated mattress pads. For the people that do not like heat against their body while they are sleeping, let me make a few very important points that should be considered.

safety and sleeping on sunbeam mattress padBefore Electric blankets were even invented, I would stay at my grandparent’s house. At night my granddad would throw a couple of extra logs in the fireplace to heat up the house as best he could, and my grandmother would tuck me in bed, then put it seemed like 15 quilts on top of me to keep me from getting cold. Well not only were the quilts so heavy, but I couldn’t move, and I just didn’t want to get up the next day.

Remembering the cold nights at my grandparent’s house helped me decide really fast about buying an sunbeam microplush electric blanket the first time I had the chance. Since my first electric blanket I have found that you do not need all those quilts, just one cover over the electric blanket to hold the heat in. Later in years since I started using an eclectic blanket I realized I really didn’t need to turn the heat up as high as I did before. After about two months I noticed that my power bill had gone down. After the winter was over I also realized that my electric blanket had helped to bring the power bill down considerably.

is it safe to sleep under an electric blanketWhile watching a TV show on The Discovery Channel I learned about heat therapy, so I decided to try it, and to my amazement it works, so now my electric blanket is my healing pad as well. It helps to relieve all my aching muscles and when I have an ear ache, or tooth ache, I just grab my electric blanket and put it on whatever ailment I have, go to sleep and when I wake up I feel better.

My electric blanket works so well and I enjoy my heat therapy so much that during the summertime I purchased a small heating pad, so that I could still do my heat therapy.

At around $30.00 you can purchase a full size electric blanket. They also come in many different sizes and colors. By adjusting the heat, you can set the temperature to just the right setting for it to be comfortable for you.

Some people who use electric blankets put them on top of them, because they say it is too much heat on them and by putting the electric blanket on the top keeps the cold out. Personally I like the electric blanket on top of the bottom sheet, and then put a comforter over that, then by adjusting the heat a little lower I stay nice and toasty, because the comforter holds the heat in the bed.

It would benefit everyone in the winter time to own an electric blanket to stay warm and save money on the power bill. Now day’s they are not expensive, and you can even use an extra electric blanket in the den while you watch T. Is Your Electric Blanket Safe?
I use an electric blanket to preheat the bed but switch it off before I get into bed then use a hot water bottle to maintain the heat. I cannot sleep if I am cold and just wearing socks, using a hot water bottle etc is not enough for me.

Heating Up Inside The Sunbeam Electric Blanket

instructions for sunbeam style h85kq electric blanketI have been a fan of electric blankets for a long, long time. I remember using them ever since I was young; I wasn’t even married yet! By that time, although I always was very delicate to cold, there were times when I could do without an electric blanket and heated mattress pads. Nowadays, as years have passed and as I am approaching to an older age, I would prefer eating nothing all day rather than sleeping without my Sunbeam electric blanket!dreamland electric under blankets. Yes, I’m both shy and proud to admit it but the truth is that I am addicted to my electric blanket!

Sunbeam electric blanket has a very special feature; it is equipped with special sensors that will detect cold parts of your body and will instruct the blanket to heat them immediately!

The blanket heats up very fast. Most of the times it will only take a few minutes for you to start feeling warmer than little birds inside their nest! Honestly, Sunbeam electric blanket will warm up a lot faster than you might have been used to with other electric blankets.

my sunbeam electric blanket does not get hot anymoreThe blanket has a soft, extremely friendly, 100% acrylic fabric surface. I bought it in a light, white coloring but you can find it in just about any coloring scheme you would imagine.

One important advantage of this blanket is that you will not feel any wires/elements inside it. Sunbeam electric blanket feels almost exactly like a normal, everyday blanket does. This is achieved through what the manufacturer has named ‘ThermoFine Warming’ technology. Being a simple citizen that I am, I can’t really tell you much about how this technology works; what I can tell you however, is that it is really, really effective!

sunbeam electric blanket helpSome final notes now; the blanket comes with a 5 year guarantee and it has passed all the safety checks of course. For a large blanket, you will pay something close to 80 bucks; you can always get smaller sizes for less money. If you want to clean your blanket, there’s nothing special you need to do; just clean it like you would clean any other blanket.

I would rate the Sunbeam electric blanket with a full 10/10. No, I’m not an easy to satisfy customer; the truth is that I am very demanding. In the case of Sunbeam electric blanket, I simply believe that this product is more than satisfying.

This is the first electric blanket I have ever owned, so I can’t compare this product to others of its type (except to note that so many other electric blankets look old, threadbare, and UGLY – not this one), but I am very happy with it.

Dreamland Electric Blanket and heated mattress pads, A Really Warm Dream

I am very delicate and always too cold , and I watch how many other people like me sleep with economy electric blanket; I went to the stores and got one for me. The first thing that I’m going to tell you is that even if this blanket didn’t really change my whole life, it definitely made cold winter nights a pleasure!

replacement parts for dreamland electric blanketsWhat I really didn’t know about the whole story is that I was quite lucky; it seems that within all the confusion and the rush to get a product that I had never used before, I just stumbled on the best one! Yes, if you asked me today what I have to say about Dreamland Electric Blanket then, the only thing I would say that I simply couldn’t have imagined how this product could be better. Honestly, it’s worth it’s weight in gold.

First of all, a radical difference between Dreamland Electric Blanket and the others of its kind is that this electric blanket will warm up, up to 3 times faster! To be exact, it will only take a rough of 10 minutes for the blanket to warm up; I have seen other products of this kind that need more than 30 minutes! Personally, I find this 10 minute warm-up-time to be optimal; right before you decide to go to sleep, you can turn the blanket on, wash your teeth/feet and then go running inside a hot nest that is waiting you!

A very cool feature of the blanket is that it features an extra-warm area for your feet. Remember what I just told you about rushing to your bedroom after you have just washed your feet? Especially if you like to wash your feet with cold water, the blanket will really give you a great feeling.

can electric blankets be used on aerobedsTechnically speaking, the blanket has 9, linear heat levels; if you choose the first level then you will barely notice it but if you go for the last level, you will definitely have some trouble sleeping inside such a warm nest! Additionally, you have the option to program the blanket so that it will either stay ON all night long or it will automatically turn off after 70 minutes.

Finally, you should know that Dreamland Electric Blanket comes with a 3 year guarantee as well as all the necessary safety checks. There really isn’t any need to say more about this blanket, just go get it! Modern Electric Blankets – New Styles Of Electric Blankets and heated mattress pads

Not like the ones belonging to your grandmother, the new styles of electric blanket have really changed to enhance your sleeping comfort. New electric blankets now come with heat sensors that turn the blanket on and off to keep a desired temperature in the bed while you sleep. No longer just a matter of setting the temperature and plugging it in, these blankets are designed to keep your sleep as comfortable and cozy as possible.

why does electric blanket read ffTimers and warm-up options are available on many models that will actually pre-heat the bed for you based on the time that you indicate they should begin warming. Gone are the days that you have to get into an icy bed, rather you will be able to slip between warm and cozy sheets.

In the past electric blankets have been on constantly, and may have given concern as to the amount of energy they were using. The new models now cycle on and off, and therefore are much less costly to operate and more energy efficient. Several reports indicate that an electric blanket may, in fact, save money on energy bills overall since the overall air temperature can be kept lower while you sleep. If you are concerned about the wired control setting, consider going wireless with a remote temperature control blanket. The small controlled unit can be kept in easy reach to simply adjust temperatures up or down as needed. Many of these blankets also offer automatic temperature adjustment as well.

For watching TV or reading an electric throw is a terrific option. Smaller than a full sized electric blanket they still offer all the features of a full sized blanket, including an automatic shut off and multiple temperature settings.

12 volt fleece electric heated / heating blanketThere is also a new micro-fleece low voltage electric blanket on the market that is ideal for keeping warm without any bulk. This ultra thin electric blanket comes with a converter that changes the standard 120V power into an ultra safe 25 volts. The blanket itself never becomes hot to the touch; rather it provides a consistent warmth. The micro-fleece works to distribute the heat evenly so there are no cold or hot spots on the blanket.

Modern electric blankets are both safe and energy efficient. It is important to keep the blankets in good repair, and to follow manufactures care information. The automatic shut offs and multiple temperature setting prevents the old problems of overheating with electric blankets. All types of fabrics and colors are used to make electric blankets, so finding a match for your bedroom or home is not difficult. Try treating yourself to an electric blanket for a warm and comfortable sleep.
